The
Alexander Technique helps
us to get in touch with the good postural habits and natural
reflexes that are a part of each of us. The principles of the
Technique teach us that by choosing to use our bodies well and
efficiently, we can move freely and easily and have a poised,
graceful posture.

Our
Certified Instructors
George
I. Lister
is a teacher of the F. M. Alexander technique as certified
by the American Society for the Alexander Technique. He
began his studies of the Technique in New
York City in 1986 and trained at The Center for The Alexander
Technique
in Menlo Park, California beginning October, 1991. He was
certified by The American Society for the Alexander Technique
(AmSAT) in July, 1994 and has continued advanced studies
with Troup Matthews in New York City, Frank Ottiwell, in
San Francisco and Walter Carrington in London. He maintains
private teaching practices in San Francisco and Redwood
City, California and is the founder and director of The
Northern California Center for the Alexander Technique,
a teacher
training course leading to certification by AmSAT.
Sally Porter Munro began
her studies of the Alexander Technique in London in 1982. She trained
with Frank Ottiwell at the Alexander Technique Institute of San Francisco
and was certified as a teacher by the American Society for the Alexander
Technique in 1996. She sings with the San Francisco Opera, and has
an extensive singing teaching practice in San Francisco where she is
a faculty member of the San Francisco Girls Chorus. She is co director
and specializes in teaching the use of the voice at The Northern California
Center for the Alexander Technique. click for bios
